ELECTRITIAN
Responsibilities And Duties
- Actively work in the fields and ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other Statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance, ensures safety at each work place.
- Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic systems, units and components of machinery and equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints
- Efficiently perform preventive, breakdown, project, refurbishment repairs and assign electrical maintenance staff according to work requirements and priorities.
- Provide accurate data on Work Orders such as man-hours worked, Failure Codes, Failure Analysis and Failure Rectification.
- Report all accidents, unsafe positions, defected equipment, and safety complaints from your section to the HSE representative and participate in Root Cause Analysis of
- failures.
- Assist in training new employees by providing instruction on procedures; familiarize new employees with operations and review work assignments in order to orient employee and optimize performance.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by your Supervisor
Required Qualification
- HND or BSc. Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mining maintenance field and 2 years underground.
- Extensive knowledge of site safety, health and environmental regulations pertaining to electrical maintenance in a mining environment.
- Knowledge of electrical machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to distinguish colors used in colour-coding wires and electronic components.
- Ability to prepare estimates for any Electrical works
- Proven ability to read and interpret standard electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, parts books and service manuals (including specifications).
- Possess adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job.
- Well-developed English oral, written communications and report writing skills
- Possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with good defensive driving skills
Heavy Duty Mechanic
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively promote Safety culture and Hazard awareness and good attitude to work.
- Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance at the work place.
- Removes and installs machine components/ assist in component repairs, following procedures laid down in the appropriate service manuals.
- Should be able to use the tools that are required for removal and installation, and for assembly and disassembly.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults accurately.
- Perform periodical and scheduled inspection programmes to maintain CGML assets according to established mine maintenance and engineering standards.
- Execute planned jobs according to priorities and the availability of equipment and in accordance with CGML Work Management Practices.
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis of failures.
- Have knowledge and understanding of lubricants and lubrication systems.
- Ensure excellent House Keeping in all areas including, working tools and workshop equipment.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by your Supervisor or designate.
Required Qualification
- Technical School Diploma from a recognized institute or HND Engineering/Auto Mechanics
- Minimum of four years work experience on maintenance of earth moving machinery in workshop and field.
- Experienced with Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Processes.
- Have a good knowledge of Hydraulic Systems, lubricants, Compressed Air, Bearing Specifications and Mechanical Drive Systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret standard blueprints, technical drawings, parts books and service manuals (including specifications) for Company Equipment and plan jobs in coordination with colleagues.
- Good written and oral communication in English.
- Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with good and defensive driving skills
Welder
Responsibilities And Duties
- Actively promote Safety culture and Hazard awareness and good attitude to work.
- Must be cooperative and give a hand whenever required to form teamwork.
- Operate welding equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment to area supervisor.
- Follow required procedures and use appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembling process.
- Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, or gas-shielded arc welding.
- Assemble various fabrication parts by bolting and riveting and tack parts securely in position for welding.
- Repair parts by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling.
- Maintain a neat, tidy and safe workstation at all times.
- Provide complete and accurate end of shift reports.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by your Supervisor or his designate.
Required Qualification
- Trade/Craft Certification in Welding or related qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mining maintenance field
- Good working knowledge in Arc/ Gas-shielded welding and Fabrication.
- Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches
- Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
- Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance and proven ability to read and interpret standard blueprints/drawings and cut lists.
- Possess adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job, multi task and work under pressure
- Has the skill of quality job execution, and able to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues and other Departments
- Possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with good defensive driving skills.
Surveyor
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work under close supervision, prioritizes, schedules, and plans assigned survey jobs.
- Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of survey services
- Answer queries and handles requests related to survey services
- Escalate issues requiring advanced expertise or knowledge about the broader business impact of decisions.
- Work with mentor on more advanced issues.
- Prepare standard reports and completes documentation related to survey services
- Provide accurate line and grade to development crews in a timely manner
- Provide survey marks to allow development of the mine to correct dimensions and grade
- Maintain and ensures integrity of survey data through check surveys and calibration of instrumentation
- Ensure records are up to date, in the required format, accurate, and produced on time
- Assist Chief surveyor to survey, calculate, and check month-end production figures.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by your Supervisor or his designate.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering
- Have a minimum of 3 years of working experience in Mining Industry
- Be able to apply standards, policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
- Good written and oral communication and report writing skills.
- Possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with defensive driving skills
